Galgotias University, in collaboration with L&T EduTech, has launched India’s First Advanced EV Centre of Excellence by L&T EduTech within a university campus to provide students with immersive, industry-grade exposure to next-generation electric mobility technologies and real-world automotive systems.   Students learn with live electric mobility systems, battery modules, and industry-grade EV technologies at the Advanced EV Centre by L&T EduTech at Galgotias University The state-of-the-art facility brings live electric vehicle technologies directly into the academic ecosystem through fully functional electric cars, electric two-wheelers, live battery packs and modules, battery management systems, EV powertrain technologies, charging infrastructure, controllers, motors, diagnostics platforms, and embedded mobility systems. Developed as an experiential learning and applied engineering environment, the Centre enables students to work directly on technologies currently shaping the future of transportation globally. Unlike conventional engineering laboratories that primarily rely on simulation-based learning, the Advanced EV Centre of Excellence allows students to engage hands-on with actual electric mobility platforms and industrial-grade components used across the EV ecosystem. From Cartons to Creatures: Mumbai Brings Recycling to Life on World Environment Day

To mark World Environment Day 2026, Go Green with Tetra Pak – an initiative by Tetra Pak India in collaboration with RUR Greenlife, Reliance Smart, and Sahakari Bhandar – has partnered with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to launch a first-of-its-kind citywide awareness campaign at Veer Baji Prabhu Udyan, Dadar.    Inauguration of the pathway and Cartons to Creatures initiative The launch event was attended by Mr. Yogesh Desai, Assistant Commissioner, G North Ward, who inaugurated the initiative. At the heart of the activation is an innovative pathway developed using paver tiles made from polymer-aluminium (polyal) – a material recovered from used beverage cartons – replacing a conventional concrete surface. These tiles showcase how the polymer-aluminium layer of cartons can be repurposed into a lightweight, weather-resistant, and durable infrastructure solution.  The initiative also featured the unveiling of “Cartons to Creatures,” a series of large-scale interactive animal installations that highlight the power of recycling. Aligning with the 2026 World Environment Day theme -Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future – the Cartons to Creatures installation features life-sized animals designed as playful, immersive photo opportunities. Constructed entirely from recycled aseptic cartons, the installations will demonstrate how everyday waste can be transformed into creative and durable products. By placing the exhibits in high-footfall public spaces, the initiative seeks to spark conversations around sustainability and encourage greater participation in carton recycling across Mumbai. The campaign is being run by RUR Greenlife, Tetra Pak’s long-standing recycling partner in Mumbai, and has been implemented in close coordination with the Solid Waste Management Department and Garden Department of G North Ward, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Volunteers from RUR will be present at the installations to engage with visitors, share information about carton recycling, and encourage participation in the Go Green with Tetra Pak programme. The initiative will highlight Mumbai’s growing carton recycling ecosystem. Citizens can decide to recycle their used beverage cartons through more than 50 collection points located across Reliance Smart and Sahakari Bhandar stores, along with over 200 other collection points across the city. Launched in 2010, the Go Green with Tetra Pak Programme has encouraged thousands of Mumbaikars to recycle used beverage cartons by providing convenient collection infrastructure and demonstrating the value of recycled materials through community-focused projects. Over the years, collected cartons have been transformed into useful products such as school desks, garden benches, and awareness installations that are donated back to society. SRM University-AP Signs an MOU with Technosmile to Facilitate Educational, Cultural and Professional Exchange

SRM University-AP has officially signed a milestone Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Technosmile, a premier global hiring and human resources firm based in Japan, to establish a robust international student internship programme. The signed agreement establishes a direct pathway for students to secure technical training, language proficiency, and international employment opportunities in Japan. The MoU execution took place at the university campus, with Dr Vinayak Kalluri, Registrar, SRM AP, and Watanabe, Executive Vice President of Technosmile, signing the document. During the visit, the Technosmile delegation also held extensive strategic discussions with Prof. C V Tomy, Professor and Dean of the School of Engineering & Sciences (SEAS), alongside the Registrar, and Dr M S Vivekanandan, Director of CR&CS, to outline the academic integration of the programme. In the next 4 years, Technosmile is considering to hire a total of 50 students. These international internships are structured to directly lead to full-time career conversions upon graduation. Through this MoU, Technosmile will actively bridge the gap by sourcing, training, and integrating ambitious students from the institution into the Japanese workforce, offering them invaluable global exposure while simultaneously injecting fresh perspectives into the local industry. During the signing ceremony, Technosmile’s Executive Vice President Watanabe explicitly highlighted that the firm specifically targeted SRM University-AP due to its reputation for producing exceptionally skilled, high-quality engineers, and said that it is because “it is an excellent university in India that has sent more than 100 graduates to Japan”. Furthermore, he emphasised that SRM AP’s dedicated Japanese language programme provides students with a vital linguistic and cultural foundation, making them ideal candidates. He highlighted “The Destination Japan” programme, which is the flagship programme of the Corporate Relations and Career Services (CR & CS) department. This initiative specialises in providing comprehensive training to SRM University-AP students through Jotish Kumar, CEO of SRM Global Consulting and Sankar Karunanidhi, Country Manager, Japan – both having decades of work experience in Japan and training engineers specifically for the Japanese market. Speaking about the “Destination Japan” program, Jotish mentioned that SRM Students do not just learn Japanese language – they learn Japanese culture and work culture which is unique in Japan and hence we are able to successfully place more than 100 SRM engineering students in Japan since May 2024.
